The article is a reflection on Krzysztof Koehler’s poetic volume entitled Porwanie Europy [The Abduction of Europe] (2008). The author analyses the formal and semantic aspects of the volume, the most important of which are: the collage of genres and content, the palimpsest of meanings, the antique tradition (including nautical motifs). Thanks to this reflection, one can notice that Koehler’s work starts from references to mythical and archetypal motifs in order to build a specific historiosophy and reach essential truths about man.IRENEUSZ STAROŃ, mgr, absolwent filologii polskiej Uniwersytetu Wrocławskiego.
